Having collaborated with Meade Telescopes for many years, Sheryl D. Johnson is the owner of Adventures in Astronomy, an astronomy outreach company co-founded in 1989 her with long time friend and co-worker Debbie Searle.  Adventures in Astronomy reaches up to three thousand people each week with Astronomy outreach programs in Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties in California. Adventures in Astronomy presents a variety of stellar school assemblies tailored for students from kindergarten through high school.

The Adventures in Astronomy crew offers Large Telescope Viewings along with Astronomy Presentations, a mobile Planetarium and Space Crafts for schools, scout groups, churches and civic groups.  Up to 1,400 people an evening may attend these events year round.  Sheryl describes herself as a, "Johnny Appleseed of Astronomy."  She is also an Astronomy Educator for Tessmann Planetarium, Rancho Santiago College, Santa Ana, CA.  Sheryl has a background in television news and radio.  She runs 35 plus miles a week and is an avid reader and world traveler.
