Hey guys i was looking around on Ebay and saw this 8" Cassegraine going for a good price, can anyone tell me any information about it...it looks like it doesnt have an autostar system...

Any help would be great

The LX3 is one of Meades older versions.
It is several years old and was produced well before any of the goto telescope electronics were made.
For visual use they were a very nice scope and tracked well.
There is no goto so you will need to things the old fashioned way by learning the night sky and manually going to objects by using setting circles on the scope.

Thanks for the response. So if i find the object i want this scope can still track it right? so i will be able to take photos with it? Are the optics the same as the newer ones or are the newer ones better in any way?

Yes the scope will track the object.
It may take images if you guide it manually.
The optics on the scope were good optics from what I remember.
Just make sure you get a good polar alignment if you plan on imaging with it.
