Does anyone know exactly how to connect a PC to a RCX scope? Can I use the USB cable and connect from the scope directly to the PC's USB port? I've tried that but it will not connect. Is it supposed to or is there some other way using the serial ports #505 cables and USB to RS232 Bridge cable. The manual appears to have no details about this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

May i suggest that you join the RCX400  group on Yahoo?

This was -just- discussed, along with diagrams of the wiring.

But yes, you can use a USB to serial adapter (i recommend the Keyspan USA-19HS as the most  trouble-free) and the Meade 507 cable (a 505 will work, but it has a 4-pin plug that will sit loosely in the RCX rs232 serial socket)

have fun

Hook it up and your done. Check your hardware serial ports for which one is assigned.
