I've seen a few Christmas decorations for sale in a small store just a few blocks away from home.
I think it was before August ended when I saw them.

Honestly, I can't feel the spirit of Christmas yet, maybe it's because, everything is so expensive. I can remember when I was still a child, when September enters, my neighbors would start decorating their homes and put their lights on ready for the season, can hear those firecrackers and fireworks at night (that's how we celebrate xmas here in the Philippines), but now, I can't hear anything. No decorations, no Christmas lights. Sad... =(

It is hard to think about Christmas when it is 100 Deg F outside.

I guess people in the southern hemisphere have to do that, but here in the middle of the US that seems like a very strange mixture.

Hi Bill. I've been in the southern hemisphere for Christmas a few times, as my wife comes from Chile. It does feel rather strange but we had a barbecue on the 25th. They don't have the over-commercialism and long time off work there. Buses run as normal on 26th.

Although I'd love it if my wife and daughter bought me a 10m hydrogen alpha telescope, with the economic climate as it is, I'd settle for a book to read on a cloudy night.
