Hey Everyone

I own a ETX 125 PE telescope.
The problem that i have is a craked smart view finder, it is out of foucs. So when ever i need to point that light on an object i need to hold it and do it.

I have attached the pic, please have a look. Anything I can do to fix this? Superglue or insulation tape?

Also I live in a city called Bangalore(India), i do not have that city metioned in the autostar what do i do?
How to update the autostar so that it can load the updated database.

Today I focussed on jupiter and was able to see its four moons. I have the 26mm eye piece which comes default with this scope. I was able to see the planet only faintly ie could not see the red spot and the distinct colour.
Do i need a more power eyepiece for this one?

Also when i turn the focus knob too much I get a circular disc which has light around it and in the center it is dark? What is this one. It happened to jupiter and a star too.

Also where could the camera for this model be available?

Thank you

GSM -

Last night was my first successful night with my 125 PE.  I also focused on Jupiter and saw it with three moons very clearly.  I tried several eyepieces, but my 32mm eye piece did the trick.  I have not yet tried the Barlow lense.

Can't help witht he location question as I am having zero luck getting my PC tot alk to the AutoStar.

As for the color question - I think it becuase the colors you see come from astro-photographs, not naked eye viewing.  There is an adaptor that will thread to the rear of the 125 and adapts to 35MM cameras.  I've ordered the adaptor and will hopefully be able to post some photos soon.

This is the called an airie disc and all it means is that the object you are looking at is out of focus.  Look at the moon and turn the focus until it is a sharp clear image. To view cloud belts on Jupiter you will need at least a 10mm eyepiece. The smaller the size ie. 10mm  8mm  the more the magnification. Astro Photography can be done with almost any camera, best is an slr with the lens removed , but you will need an adapter ring and a camera attachment tube for the telescope for your choice of camera. They are readily available.
Only way I can think of to fix that broken bit if you have no where to get a replacement is to take it off and glue it with crazy glue. After it is set paint touch up and reinstall it.
