Using 2 Com port simulataneous control on the RCX400

Dear Freinds,

My USB hub on my RCX400 14 is experiencing connection issues with all length cables(3,6,12ft) and since have abandoned its use for now.

I would normally use the hub and the serial base port to achieve 2 simulateous com connections with scope, but since the hub is not working, does anyone know how to use the base serial port and OTA serial port at once. The manual clearly states both serial ports cannot be connected at once, as the LX200 series allows.
