Hi All,
I am planning to make some upgrades to my Sn-10 (new focuser, 6pt mirror mount, optics cleaning , etc.) in the near future.  My question is;  has anyone designed a set of baffles for the SN-10 OTA and has there been any discussion as to how to design them or the need for baffles, flocking, black paint, etc?

Thanks

Hi Manny,

The SN10 can certainly use some upgrades. I modified mine with a JMI motorized focuser and redesigned the mirror mount with a 6-point mount and it made a huge difference in star shape and the ability to obtain sharp focus. As far as baffles go I am not sure you really need them. You can buy flocking paper which works quite well and will help improve contrast.

I also use a dew shield on the SN10 which helps keep stray light from entering the tube.

One of the biggest improvements was to upgrade from the Meade mount to the EQ-G mount.
