Hello all,
Ive had my scope for about 4 years now and it really is about the product I have every bought.

That said, I have a problem with seal on the corrector plate. It seems the seal has shunk and is now

in the light path area. Does anyone have a suggestion or fix or even heard of any such problem.

                                                                                                    Thank you,

Hi David,

Have not heard of the seal shrinking before. If it is in the light path just a little [5 mm or so] I would not worry about it.

You can remove the 6 small screws that hold the corrector retaining ring then remove the the paper pressure gasket around the edge of the corrector and try to re-position it but I would only do so if it is causing problems.

      Thany you Brent.

But the seal is out about half an inch at least a quarter the way around the corrector plate.

And is causing an obstruction when viewing. I am a fitter/welder by trade and know how to

make gaskets. Do I need a special paper or will regular paper gasket material do?

                                                                                                          Thank you again,

                                                                                                                      David

David,

The gasket is just paper to prevent the ring from touching the corrector. I think heavy paper of about the same thickness should work fine. Be careful not to move the corrector in the process and have the scope front tilted up about 90 deg.

Here is a useful link that will show how to do this:
