My LX 90 10" has performed without fault for 2 years until the last week.

When I turn it on and select auto align, the first thing it does is dip the OTA down such that it impacts the mount and I have to slacken of the clutch as the noise is scarey.   If every time I turn the scope on i go straight to calibrate sensors, yes it does the same and I still have to open the clutch but after centering on polaris an auto alignment is possible -  the ota still dips but never quite hits the mount, its  way beyond horizontal but the calibration works. Any ideas anyone?   Is my LNC sensor at fault?

I've reset, trained everything and am frustrated!  Any thoughts appreciated.

Hi All
Sorry I didnt make complete sense, when autoaligning and going through the levelling check, the OTA dips down, beyond 50 degress causing the dewshield to strike the telescope base and fly off!

I have replaced the 3V battery in the LN sensor (didn't know there was one in there - always assumed it was powered from the 12v supply).

It does auto align OK though - is my LN sensor broken or lost calibration? I've calibrated sensors and that does help slightly but still the whole OTA dips way beyond horizontal.

Any thoughts appreciated.
