A friend of mine gave me her old DS-114 AT that she had in her closet. It has an Autostar #495 with the numeric keypad. She cannot find the battery box. Are there any available or is there an alternative power supply?

With the newer models, you can take a 9 to 12 volt power supply and rig a 9 volt battery plug on it.

Also, Meade does sell a plug in power converter that I suspect will work.

You might call Meade Customer service.  The little battery carrage for the new ones may work for the one you have, if yours has a plug on it like a 9 volt transistor radio battery.

Hope this helps.

Check your local Radio Shack,I believe they have the battery pack like mine.It carries four AA batteries on each side.At the connection point the + is the small male connection and the - is the big female one.I hope this helps. As Bill says you can order an AC adapter from Meade(about $30 +s&p).

Thank you! That was my next question whether the male part of the plug in was + or -. I might go for the plug in adapter but that would limit field work.

If you get the battery pack,you can use it just for field work.I find that mine can go for about 3-4 hours of continous operation on a cold night (40 degrees + or - 5/10 degrees).Before I purchased my power adapter I would go through 4-5 changes of batteries per season, probably the smartest I bought.

need to edit myself;
When I talked about connection points, I ment the connecters on the battery pack, not on the scope mount.
The plug on the mount should have one red wire and one black wire.(self explanatory, red +, black -)
