Hi.  The RA motor on my LX90 has stopped.  Gone into the menu and have now got a message saying motor issue due to overload etc etc.   Is there a way to self correct this or is it back to a dealer for repair.
I am very disappointed. Love the scope but I have recently been using the scope with a Celestron ED 80 refractor attached to it  by use of scope rings and mounting bar. I presume the motors on my LX90 are NOT up to dealing with the extra weight.  I have mounted the ED80 on the top of the OTA to balance things out but guess I have overlooked the weight issue.  I have seen many other peoples set ups with a guidescope attached and presumed, incorrectly, I would not have an issue.
Any help at all appreciated.  Thx   John

Souldnt have been overloaded especially if you had a good balance.
Try calling Meade and see if something can be reset.
A lot of things can be fixed over the phone.
