I'm in the market for a guide scope for use on a 10" LX200 ACF. I'll take any advice anyone has on what works for them.
Thanks, Steve

Steve,
I like the Stellarvue 70mm refractor - light weight and does the job, and the optics aren't half bad if you want to guide with the Meade and shoot big objects like Andromeda galaxy. I also HIGHLY recommend the Losmandy rail system to mount it on top of your scope, although there are many options out there. Get the best you can afford, but the Losmandy rail/ring system is very tight and rigid, no flex at all.
Cheers!

So question about guiding, this 70mm refractor has a focal length of 420 mm, compared to the LX200's 2500 mm. What is the minimum ratio of main focal length to guiding focal length for acceptable guiding errors?

With a guiding program like PHD it dosnt really matter. I have used a modified 8x50 finder scope as a guide scope on my 10 inch LX200 R with no problems.
Regards
Mark
