In need of help, anyone,

I just received my new replacement scope from Meade under their first light warranty program. I had RA/DEC problems that were a factory problem. I took the new scope out, set it up, and used it for one night. Tonight I went out to take a few pictures and noticed my Orion solitaire autoguider would not calibrate the LX motors. I received a message stating " Motors not responding". I Shut down the LX200 and restarted it. Smart Mount kicked in, "Initializing Smart Mount" message appears, then I got the message " PEC Sensors not responding, you may continue to use the scope however, if this problem persists you will have to return it to the factory for service". I reset the scope to factory settings, to no avail. It said the same thing after Smart Mount initialization. Is there anyone out there that has had a similar problem/ experience like this? Is there a way I can fix this myself without sending it to California for service? I'm ready to throw in the towel.... I need help.

Davio R,

I do not have a clue, but...

If you can't find an answer here, the next best resource (maybe even better) is the LX200 GPS Yahoo group.  The world's best experts hang out there (Dr. Clay, John Mahony, Dick Seymour, Andrew Johansen, etc.).  If the problem can be diagnosed & fixed without sending the scope back, these guys will know.

Let us know how you make out...
