I am thinking very seriously of getting the 16 inch Lightbridge and was wondering if anyone has had any positive and of course, negative experiences with this new scope?

I know that I can get an adapter kit for my Sky Commander and a light shroud.

Just looking for any other opinions and making sure before I plunk down 2k Smiley

Hi I just purchased a 12 inch Lightbridge. I am thoroughly pleased with the ease of handling and set-up. It breaks down in 5 minutes and re-assembles in 5 also. As far as observing is concerned the optics are very precise. I use the 26mm 2inch for wide vew and a pentax 1.25 15mm for power. You can definitely see red spot and other details on jupiter. I just recently bought a filter to "pop" out the nebulae. I used it on Orions to mornings ago the gas and particles filled the eyepiece. It was spectacular. Definitely buy the skirt. and the laser collimator. Tomorrow night I am going to a dark sky sight with one of the reps from Oceanside Photo and Telescope to try it out. Also get an observing chair so that when you are looking at objects 45 degrees or less you dont hurt your back. Merrillb
