The ETX-60 - One Tough Little Scope
A couple of years ago while looking for something to do near the full moon I tinkered with using my ETX-60 to take pictures with my DSI Pro III (lum) and DSI III (color). Much to my surprise that will a little luck and a lot of patience this actually worked quite well! The key was the wide field high sensitivity, light weight, and low profile of the Pro III (with a face plate). I now routinely use this combination for fun wide field imaging using 5-15 second exposures. On this particular evening just this past winter this little scope showed just how tough it could be sitting out in the deep freeze imaging M42 while I was nice’n cozy controlling the scope and camera from inside my house.
